The 2020  Château Carmes de Rieussec is the second wine of Château Rieussec, a Premier Grand Cru Classé Sauternes estate owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). Named after the Carmelite monks who owned the Rieussec estate in the 18th century, Carmes de Rieussec offers a more approachable expression of the château's celebrated sweet-wine style while retaining the character of its prestigious terroir. The 2020 vintage, composed of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle, reveals delicate aromas of rhubarb, ripe peach, and white flowers. Fresh and silky on the palate, it develops notes of citrus, buttery richness, and a subtle Muscadelle character before a persistent, elegant finish.
