2021 Signorello Padrone Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley California
The 2021 Signorello Padrone Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship red of Signorello Estate, created in honor of founder Ray Signorello Sr. and crafted from estate-grown fruit in Napa Valley. The grapes come from selected blocks of the estate's extremely rocky hillside vineyards, producing a deeply concentrated wine with remarkable depth, elegance and structure. The blend is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 1% Malbec.
Rich and layered, Padrone opens with intense dark cherry, plum and cassis, followed by crushed potpourri, dried herbs, cedar and earthy nuances. Its polished tannins and persistent finish are complemented by 18 months of aging in 50% new French oak, and the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. The 2021 vintage received 98 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 97 points from Decanter, Vinous and Wine Enthusiast. Its concentration and structure make it an excellent choice with prime beef, lamb, roasted game and aged cheeses.
