The 2021 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the distinctive character of Alexander Valley, where Silver Oak has been making Cabernet Sauvignon for decades. The winery established roots in the region before Alexander Valley was officially recognized as an AVA, helping establish its reputation as an outstanding source for Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2021 growing season brought a dry winter, cool spring and gentle summer, creating fruit with depth, vibrancy and excellent balance.

The wine opens with expressive aromas of cedar, vanilla and clove layered over blackberry, black cherry and ripe raspberry. On the palate, rich dark fruit is lifted by bright acidity and framed by silky, fine-grained tannins. Notes of graphite, violet and spice add complexity, while the signature American oak character brings warmth and depth. The finish is long, polished and persistent.

The 2021 blend is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. After blending, the wine was aged for 24 months in American oak before additional bottle aging, allowing the fruit, tannins and oak to integrate beautifully. The result is an elegant yet structured Alexander Valley Cabernet with the depth to enjoy now and the structure to reward further cellaring.
