The 2021 Emilio Rojo Castes Brancas is an expressive white wine from Ribeiro, Galicia, Spain, crafted from a historic blend of native Galician grape varieties. Sourced from a unique vineyard near the village of Ibedo in the Avia Valley, this wine reflects the region's distinctive granite-rich soils, known locally as sábrego, and its diverse Atlantic-influenced landscape.
Made from Treixadura, Lado, Godello, Albariño, Caíño Blanco, Torrontés, and Loureira, the grapes are carefully hand-selected and harvested in small 12 kg crates. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, followed by 12 months of aging in the same tanks. After bottling in summer 2022, the wine remained in the cellar for another 18 months before release.
Its complex aromatic profile, elegant texture, vibrant character, and mineral depth make it an excellent companion for fresh seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, white meats, and aged cheeses.
