2024 Belle Glos Dairyman Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley California

The 2024 Dairyman Pinot Noir from Belle Glos showcases the bold, richly textured style of Pinot Noir from California’s Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. Grown at Dairyman Vineyard, a former dairy farm with a cool coastal climate, the grapes benefit from morning fog and afternoon breezes that help preserve freshness while allowing the fruit to develop concentrated flavors. The grapes are harvested in the cool morning hours, gently destemmed and cold-soaked before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for up to nine months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new, adding depth, texture and layers of spice.

The wine displays a deep garnet color, with aromas of blackcurrant, cherry pie, cedar and milk chocolate. On the palate, ripe plum, sweet black cherry and boysenberry are complemented by hints of sage, thyme and baking spices. Rich and expressive, the wine combines a silky texture with supple, refined tannins and a long, satisfying finish. Its generous fruit character and savory complexity make it an excellent pairing for roasted duck, grilled pork, herb-roasted chicken, mushroom dishes and barbecue.
