2015 Carmela Durigutti Single Vineyard Malbec, Las Compuertas, Argentina

Named for Pablo Durigutti’s daughter, Carmela, this 2015 Single Vineyard Malbec comes from organically managed vines at Victoria Estate in Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Made from 100% Malbec with native-yeast fermentation in concrete eggs and 18 months in French oak vats, it offers a rich, intense red-wine style to pair with beef or venison.

Harvest & Winemaking

• Hand-harvested in 18-kilogram boxes, with double selection.
• 70% destemmed fruit and 30% whole bunches.
• Cold maceration at 8°C for 10 days.
• Native-yeast alcoholic fermentation in uncoated concrete eggs for 30 days at 28°C.
• Malolactic fermentation in French oak vats for 30 days at 24°C.
• Aged for 18 months in French oak vats, 50% first use and 50% second use.
• Unfined and unfiltered. Cork closure.
