N/V Racines Grand Reserve Sparkling Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills, California
Racines Grand Reserve is a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine made entirely from Chardonnay grown in California’s cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills. The project brings together three winegrowing talents: Etienne de Montille and Brian Sieve, known for their Burgundian expertise, and Rodolphe Péters, whose family Champagne house brings generations of sparkling-wine experience. Fruit is sourced from distinguished vineyards including Bentrock, Wenzlau Family, Sanford & Benedict and La Rinconada. Reserve wines add depth and continuity, while extended lees aging contributes texture and complexity.
White flowers, ripe pear and white peach lead the aromatics, followed by lemon zest, toasted bread, almond and subtle pastry notes. The palate combines a lively, persistent mousse with bright citrus, savory minerality and a saline finish. Its extra-brut style keeps the wine crisp and dry, making it an elegant choice for oysters, seafood, sushi and celebratory occasions.
