2023 Belle Glos Las Alturas Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, California

The 2023 Las Alturas Pinot Noir from Belle Glos showcases a bold, concentrated expression of Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, California. The Las Alturas vineyard benefits from abundant sunshine and well-drained sandy loam soils, while cool afternoon breezes help preserve acidity as the grapes ripen. This distinctive combination contributes to the wine’s rich fruit character, depth and velvety texture. Belle Glos is known for crafting expressive, vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs that emphasize the unique character of their growing sites.

The wine opens with intense aromas of black cherry, cola, rosewater and caramelized oak. On the palate, ripe black cherry and dark berry flavors are layered with smoky oak and subtle spice, creating a rich, powerful profile with a smooth texture and lingering finish. Full-bodied and generous in style, this Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled pork, herb-seasoned chicken, mushroom dishes and savory preparations of beef.
