2021 Domaine Serene Yamhill Cuvée Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Oregon

The 2021 Domaine Serene Yamhill Cuvée is a signature Willamette Valley Pinot Noir built by blending fruit from Domaine Serene’s main estate vineyards across the Yamhill-Carlton, Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills AVAs. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, with fruit harvested from September 8–27, 2021, and 7,613 cases produced. The 2021 vintage shows the estate’s polished Oregon style through aromas of sweet kirsch cherry, fresh fir tips, potpourri and sandalwood, followed by ripe red and blue berries, cranberry and Italian plum.

The wine spent 15 months in French oak, with 40% new oak, giving the fruit a subtle layer of oak spice while preserving its fresh character. On the palate it is plush, juicy and medium-bodied, with silky tannins and bright acidity leading into a floral finish of rose petal. Professional reviews also highlight raspberry, blueberry, cherry, orange peel, clove, cinnamon and savory spice. Wine Spectator recommends drinking the 2021 through 2031, while Wine Advocate gives it a drinking window through 2034.
