2024 Far Niente Chardonnay, Napa Valley, California
Far Niente’s 2024 Chardonnay brings together fruit from select Napa Valley vineyards, including sites in Carneros and Coombsville, where cooler conditions help preserve freshness and natural acidity. Winemaker Nicole Marchesi aged the wine sur lie in French oak barrels with medium toast, using 43% new oak and 57% once-used barrels to develop texture and complexity while allowing the fruit to remain expressive.
Aromas of melon, citrus blossom, ripe peach and pear lead into flavors of grilled citrus and wet stone, with subtle vanilla and toasted hazelnut in the background. Its smooth, creamy texture is balanced by lively acidity, gentle spice and a juicy, polished finish. This Napa Valley Chardonnay pairs beautifully with seafood, roasted poultry and creamy pasta dishes.
